Recommendation Concerning the Purchase of Four Excavators for the Public Works Department - Paul Nobles, Purchasing Manager, Office of Purchasing
That the Board authorize the issuance of a Purchase Order to Tractor & Equipment Company, for two Komatsu PC45MR-5 Mini Excavators and two Gradall XL3100 V 4x4 Hydraulic Excavators, per the specifications, terms and conditions of PD 18-19.062, Excavators (4), for the Escambia County Public Works Department, in the amount of $831,800. Tractor & Equipment Company, located in District 3, was deemed the lowest, most responsible bidder.

BACKGROUND:
In an effort to encourage competition for local businesses, and in compliance with Board-adopted policy, this equipment was advertised through Vendor Registry to twelve firms, four of which were local, on May 20, 2019 for a period of sixteen days. On June 4, 2019 four bids were received. Tractor & Equipment Company, located in District 3, was deemed the lowest, most responsible bidder.

This recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, FL 1999, Chapter 45, Finance, Article II Purchases and Contracts.
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
The Office of Purchasing will issue the Purchase Order.
