Approve a Resolution for the Establishment of the Escambia County Youth Commission

RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning a Resolution for the Establishment of the Escambia County Youth Commission.
That the Board take the following action:
A. Rescind the Board's action of March 7, 2019, adopting Resolution R2018-133 establishing the Escambia County Youth Commission; and
B. Adopt the Resolution establishing a committee with five (5) initial members of the Escambia County Youth Commission; and
C. Authorize the Chairman to sign the Resolution.
BACKGROUND:
The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners established the Escambia County Youth Commission to give Escambia youth an opportunity to participate in the process of County government. Each youth representative will be a resident of Escambia County, attend school in Escambia County (Public, Private, Charter or Home School) and must be in 10th or 11th grade during the 2019-2020 academic year.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
As part of the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget, each Commissioner received $50,000 of discretionary money. Commissioner Bergosh will allocate $1,000 from his discretionary money to establish the initial funding for this program.
