Recommendation Concerning the Human Services Appropriations Committee - Amy Lovoy, Interim County Administrator
That the Board abolish the Human Services Appropriations Committee. Per Tom Hilton, Chief Financial Officer, United Way of Escambia County, with the consolidation of Escambia County's HSAC process into the United Way of Escambia County's Community Investment process several years ago, there is no need for the County to solicit Escambia County residents to staff the County's HSAC process.
BACKGROUND:
The Human Services Appropriations Committee (HSAC) was maintained by the United Way of Escambia County, Inc. The purpose of the HSAC was to review agency funding requests to Escambia County and the City of Pensacola and to make funding recommendations individually to both bodies in accordance with policy and procedure agreements with each.
