RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Extension of the 2019 Ad Valorem Property Tax Roll - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services

That the Board approve extending the 2019 Ad Valorem Property Tax Roll prior to the completion of the Value Adjustment Board (VAB) hearings, to afford the taxpayers of Escambia County the opportunity to pay their taxes during each of the four discount periods, beginning November 1, 2019, as allowed by Florida Statute 197.323.

BACKGROUND:

By extending the tax roll, it allows the Tax Collector the ability to collect property taxes for the various taxing authorities beginning Novermber 1, 2019, even if the VAB hearings have not been completed. This will give taxpayers the abiltiy to pay their property taxes during any of the four discount periods.
