Recommendation Concerning Reallocation of Capital Improvement Program Funds - Joy Jones, P.E., Engineering Department Director

That the Board approve a Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) IV Discretionary Funding Source, in the amount of $2,160,000, to fund the Jackson Street Complete Streets Project.

This project is located in Commission District 2.

BACKGROUND:

The Jackson Street Complete Streets Project is a sidewalk, drainage, and lighting improvement project designed to connect a sidewalk for pedestrians from Fairfield Drive to the existing sidewalks at Corry Field Road. There will be several phases of construction.

Improvements will include:

Installation of 129 new light fixtures;
12,800 linear feet of sidewalk;
An overall stormwater conveyance system for the Jackson Street and Myrtle Grove area; and
A tree mitigation plan to replace removed trees.

Scheduling and prioritization of Capital Improvement Projects are at the discretion of the Board.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Upon Board approval of this Recommendation, a Budget Amendment will be transmitted to the Office of Management and Budget for processing to set up the project funding.
