RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Purchase of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) for the New Correctional Facility - Cassie C. Boatwright, Facilities Management Department Director

That the Board take the following action:

A. Authorize the issuance of Purchase Orders to the following vendors for the purchase of Furnishing, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) for the New Correctional Facility in accordance with the Escambia County, Florida Code of Ordinances, Chapter 46, Article II, Section 46-44, Application; Exemptions; and Section 46-64, Board approval; and

B. Authorize the County Administrator to sign Purchase Orders for the Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E), not to exceed the $2,000,000, which was the amount approved by the Board for the New Correctional Facility.

BACKGROUND:

The New Correctional Facility Approved Project Budget included $2,000,000 for Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FFE). These items are essential to the core operation of the Detention Facility.

The Facilities Management Director and Corrections Lieutenant worked to identify vendors using the State of Florida and Escambia County Purchasing Cooperatives who could accommodate all of the FF&E needs in a time frame to meet the building completion.

All work associated with this Recommendation was done in-house and no additional staff was required.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

This Recommendation is in compliance with the Escambia County, FL, Code of Ordinance, Chapter 46, Article II, Purchases and Contracts.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

The Office of Purchasing will issue the Purchase Orders.
