RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Authorizing the County Administrator to Advertise a Request for Proposals for an Outdoor Advertising Sign Site Lease - George Touart, Interim County Administrator

That the Board authorize the County Administrator to advertise a Request for Proposals for an Outdoor Advertising Sign Site Lease, seeking the professional services of a qualified offeror to provide advertising services to generate revenue from the most responsive offeror that is the most advantageous for the County.

[This Contract will increase revenue for the County]

BACKGROUND:

On June 21, 2007, the Board awarded a Contract for PD 06.07.071, "Outdoor Advertising Sign Site Lease," for a period of 36 months, with two additional one-year periods, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the solicitation. The five-year contract was expired and a new Request for Proposals for the "Outdoor Advertising Sign Site Lease" needs to be done. Funds generated from the income will be deposited in the General Fund (001).

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This Contract will increase revenue for the County.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

The County Attorney's Office prepared the original contract for PD 06-07.071 and will prepare the current contract for this Request For Proposal.

PERSONNEL:

No additional personnel will be required to implement these services.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

County Ordinance, Chapter 46, Article II, Section 46-81 Source Selection.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

The Purchasing Department will coordinate the Request for Proposals and work with the County Attorney's Office and the County Administrator's Office to bring a Recommendation back to the Board to award the contract.
