RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning Cancellation of Seven Commercial Facade, Landscape, and Infrastructure Grant Program Liens - Keith Wilkins, Community & Environment Department Director

That the Board ratify the following June 20, 2013, action of the Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, acting in its capacity as the Escambia County Redevelopment Agency (CRA), concerning the Commercial Facade, Landscape, and Infrastructure Grant Program:

A. Approving the following seven Commercial Facade, Landscape, and Infrastructure Grant Program Lien Cancellations, as the Grant recipients have met their requirements:

B. Authorizing the Chairman to sign the Lien Cancellations.

BACKGROUND:
On June 20, 2013. a CRA meeting was convened to consider approval of the aforementioned lien cancellations. The property owners have satisfied the one-year compliance with the Grant Program.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
No budgetary impact is anticipated.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

Kristin Hual, Assistant County Attorney, has reviewed and approved the seven Cancellation of Lien documents as to form and legal sufficiency.

PERSONNEL:

Community and Environment Department/ Community Redevelopment Agency CED/CRA staff will coordinate and administer the Commercial Facade, Landscape, and Infrastructure Grant Program.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
Current practice requires Board approval of the Commercial Facade, Landscape, and Infrastructure Grant Program lien cancellations.
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
Upon obtaining the Chairman’s signature, the Clerk of Court will record the Cancellation of Lien for each property owner.
