1.			Call to Order - Chairman Lee called to order the Special Meeting of the Escambia County Contractor Competency Board at 9:00 a.m. on May 15, 2013, in Room 115 of the Escambia County Central Complex.

2.			Determination of Quorum - Chairman Lee confirmed a quorum was present.

3.			Proof of Publication - Chairman Lee, upon inquiry, confirmed the meeting date and time was properly advertised in the Pensacola News Journal on May 11, 2013.

4.			PUBLIC HEARING: RANDAL H. SIMMONS, Application for Restoration of Certificate of Competency No.: BC01530 (expired: 6/13/2004) [continued from May 1, 2013 CCB meeting for additional information; Trice Dukes abstained from voting upon advise from Mr. Ross as he was not in attendance at the May 1, 2013.] Randal Simmons, Contractor, was present.
		Motion made by Vice Chairman John Matthews, Seconded by James Reynolds to waive re-examination for Randal H. Simmons and reinstate his license (License No.: BC01530), upon a finding that 1) good cause was shown that re-examination should be waived; and 2) that a waiver will not adversely affect public safety; contingent upon payment of fees due for all renewal periods and costs, if any. [Trice Dukes abstained from voting as he was not present at the May 1, 2013 meeting.]
		Vote: 8 - 0

5.			Member, Vic Wallace, disclosed that related to the Notice to Show Cause hearing, his company has previously done work for Mr. Valentino and Mr. Reeder. He is not currently under contract with either individual but is currently contracted with Escambia County.

6.			WRITTEN COMMUNICATION.

	A.		Motion For Stay of Administrative Proceeding, dated May 2, 2013, filed by George R. "Erick" Mead, Esq. on behalf of Grant Wood and GRANTWOOD CONTRACTING COMPANY, INC. [Mr. Wood, Respondent, was present].
		Motion made by Vice Chairman John Matthews, Seconded by James Reynolds to accept the Motion For Stay until the dispostition of the Circuit Court case is made known to the Contractor Competency Board.
		Vote: 6 - 3

7.			Show Cause Hearing

	A.		COMPLAINT: GRANT WOOD and GRANTWOOD CONTRACTING COMPANY, INC., Certificate of Competency No.: BC0444; re: 15026 Innerarity Point Road - Gene and Maureen Valentino, Complainants/Owners. [Complainants represented by Wes Reeder, Esq.; Respondent/Contractor represented by George R. "Erick" Mead, II.] THIS MATTER WAS STAYED; SEE 6A.

8.			Adjournment.
		Motion made by Vice Chairman John Matthews, Seconded by Verris Magee to adjourn the meeting.
