RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Approval to Issue Fiscal Year 2019/2020 Purchase Order to Blue Arbor, Inc. - Clara Long, Interim Neighborhood & Human Services Department Director

That the Board authorize the issuance of a Fiscal Year 2019/2020 Purchase Order to Blue Arbor, Inc., PD Number 17-18.055, in the amount of $45,000, for temporary labor services for the Neighborhood and Human Services Department at the Brownsville and Ebonwood Community Centers for Afterschool and Summer Youth Programs.

BACKGROUND:

Neighborhood and Humans Services Department (NHS) provide afterschool care and summer youth programs for over 150 youth throughout each year at Ebonwood and Brownsville Community Centers. These programs provide tutoring, arts and crafts, reading, sports, computer activities, and other educational tools. Issuance of this Purchase Order is necessary to provide these youths opportunites to play, learn, and grow in a safe and healthy environment.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Funds are available in the Fiscal Year 2019/2020 budget and were approved by the BCC during the budget hearings utilizing Fund 353, NHS Community Centers, LOST IV, Cost Center 370107, Project Code 19NH0389.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

This Recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, FL 1999, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II Purchases and Contracts.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

MHS staff will coordinate with Office of Purchasing issuing a Purchase Order. NHS staff will aid in implementation and oversight of the Purchase Order for the temporary labor services provided at Ebonwood and Brownsville Community Centers.
