RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Out-of-County Travel for Northwest Florida's Aerospace Marketing Efforts in Hamburg, Germany - George Touart, Interim County Administrator

That the Board authorize out-of-County travel for Commissioner Gene M. Valentino and George Touart, Interim County Administrator, to attend the Northwest Florida's aerospace marketing efforts in Hamburg, Germany, on December 7, 2013, through December 12, 2013, including any County-related communication charges associated with their Verizon cell phones while in Hamburg, Germany. The total cost of this trip will not exceed $6,000 per person.

BACKGROUND:

The Gulf Coast Aerospace Coalition, which consist of Economic Development Leaders from Bay, Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton Counties, will host the first International Aerospace Industry Forum for Northwest Florida Leadership on December 8, 2013, through December 11, 2013, in Hamburg, Germany. The Coalition will receive critical insight into the needs of the Aerospace Supply Companies including their specialized training requirements.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Travel Expenses will be paid from Fund 102, Economic Development, Cost Center 360704, Object Code 54001 (Travel).

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

This request is in compliance with the Board's policy on Out-of-County Travel, Section I, Part C, Item Number 4.

The County Administrator's Office will coordinate the travel arrangements for this trip.
