RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Assignment of Letter of Agreement with Barbara H. Wade, M.D., to Infectious Diseases Associates of Northwest Florida, P.A. - Gordon C. Pike, Corrections Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Assignment of Letter of Agreement with Barbara H. Wade, M.D., to Infectious Diseases Associates of Northwest Florida, P.A., providing HIV consultation, evaluation, management, and related services for the inmates at the Escambia County Jail:

A. Approve the Assignment of Letter of Agreement; and

B. Authorize the Interim County Administrator to sign the Assignment of Letter of Agreement.

BACKGROUND:

Effective October 1, 2013, the County shall assume responsibility for the operation of the Escambia County Jail. The Board previously approved a Letter of Agreement with Barbara H. Wade, M.D., for the provision of HIV consultation, evaluation, management and related services for inmates at the Escambia County Jail. After the agreement was fully executed, Dr. Wade clarified such services would be provided through her firm, Infectious Diseases Associates of Northwest Florida, P.A. The Assignment will not alter or modify the provision of services as provided in the original agreement.

The Assignment was prepared by Assistant County Attorney, Kristin D. Hual.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

This recommendation is in compliance with Chapter 46, Article II of the Escambia County Code of Ordinances.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

The Escambia County Jail staff will be responsible for the implementation and the coordination of this agreement.
