RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Amendment to the Committee of the Whole Agenda and Meeting Procedures Policy

That the Board consider approving an amendment to the attached Committee of the Whole Agenda and Meeting Procedures Policy in order to ensure compliance with SB 50 regarding the public's right to participate in public meetings.

BACKGROUND:

In the 2013 Legislative Session, Laws of Florida Ch. 2013-227 (SB 50) was passed which created Florida Statutes § 286.0114, public meetings; reasonable opportunity to be heard. The Chairman may wish to read the amendment to the policy before the meeting of the Committee of the Whole begins.
