BACKGROUND:
The Department of Natural Resources Management is requesting replacement of five vehicles for the Environmental Code Enforcement Division for use in the daily operations of the Environmental Enforcement Officers. An Officer’s workday is spent primarily in a vehicle, traveling to various properties within the County to assist citizens with environmental code concerns; therefore, it is critical that the Division have safe, reliable vehicles available for each Officer to use. The fleet vehicles requested for replacement have an average life in service of 13 years. Two of the vehicles have already been disposed for reasons listed below, while the other three are targeted for replacement due to age, mileage and reliability issues.

PN 57046, a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer, was approved for disposal on July 16, 2020, due to a blown engine.
PN 55830, a 2007 Ford Explorer, was approved for disposal on July 16, 2020, because it was totaled in an accident.
PN 54792, a 2006 Ford Escape, currently in use, has mileage of 144,185  and lifetime maintenance costs of $11,658.
PN 55813, a 2007 Ford Explorer, currently in use, has mileage of 131,600  and lifetime maintenance costs of $18,012.
PN 55831, a 2007 Ford Explorer, currently in use, has mileage of 159,000  and lifetime maintenance costs of  $20,491.
