Recommendation Concerning the Reallocation of Capital Improvement Program Funds for the Perdido Key Drive and Johnson Beach Road Intersection Improvement Project - Joy Jones, P.E., Engineering Department Director

That the Board approve the reallocation of funds from Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) IV District 2 Discretionary funds, in the amount of $125,308, for the Perdido Key Drive and Johnson Beach Road Intersection Improvement Project.

BACKGROUND:

On November 18, 2019, the Board approved staff to proceed with solicitation of an engineering firm to provide design services for improvements to the Perdido Key Drive at Johnson Beach Road intersection and that District 2 Discretionary Funds would be utilized for the funding.

On July 28, 2020, staff negotiated a Contract, in the amount of $125,308, with Atkins North America, Inc., which will be recommended for approval at the Board Meeting on September 3, 2020, under a separate Recommendation prepared by the Office of Purchasing.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

Scheduling and prioritization of Capital Improvement Projects are at the discretion of the Board.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Upon Board approval of this request, a Budget Amendment will be forwarded to the Office of Management and Budget to reallocate the funds to the Perdido Key Drive at Johnson Beach Road Intersection Improvement Project.
