BACKGROUND: |
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Housing Rehabilitation program provides funding for moderate housing rehabilitation for low and moderate income homeowners. On 3/2/18, the Neighborhood Enterprise Division solicited sealed bids via publication in the Pensacola News Journal and email contact to interested contractors for moderate housing rehabilitation for 206 Calloway Street. Repairs to be performed include new roof installation, electrical re-wire, septic tank abandonment, replumbing, window replacement, cabinetry replacement, and other associated interior and exterior repairs. A contract was awarded to Design Homebuilders, Inc. in the amount of $49,070 under purchase order #181331. After the start of the job, damage was uncovered which required change order #1 in the amount of $820, to bring the job total to $49,890. As work has progressed, additional plumbing damage was found to original cast iron pipes. The contractor has provided an estimate of $1,140 to make the needed repairs, bringing the total contract amount to $51,030. This change order will allow for repairs to be completed for the homeowner. |
