RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning the Contract Award for the Dredging of Lafitte Cove Canal - Paul Nobles, Purchasing Manager, Office of Purchasing

That the Board approve and authorize the County Administrator to sign the Agreement between Escambia County, Florida, and Coastal Reef Builders, Inc., for an indefinite quantity and indefinite delivery contract, per the terms and conditions of PD 17-18.072, for Dredging of Lafitte Cove Canal, in the amount of $65,000.

BACKGROUND:
The legal advertisement for this "Invitation to Bid" was advertised in the Pensacola News Journal on July 23, 2018.  A non-mandatory pre-solicitation conference was held on July 30, 2018.  One firm was represented at that meeting.  Bids were received from four firms on August 13, 2018.  Coastal Reef Builders, Inc. is the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder. 

The County receives a reimbursement of $65,000 annually from the Santa Rosa Island Authority for the routine maintenance dredging of the entrance of Lafitte Cove Canal.

All work associated with this recommendation was done in-house and no additional staff was required.
POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
This recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, FL 1999, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II Purchases and Contracts.
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
The Office of Purchasing will issue the Agreement and Purchase Order.
