RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Budget Amendment #192 - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services

That the Board approve Budget Amendment #192, Internal Services Fund (501), in the amount of $5,869, reallocating budgeted funds to the appropriate expense accounts to pay employees who are eligible for the County's Health Insurance, a taxable $50 or $25 reward for participating in the Wellness Incentive Program. The Supervisor of Elections, Santa Rosa Island Authority, Clerk of Courts, Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, and Health Facilities Authority are eligible to participate in the program. These funds need to be appropriated to the correct expenditure accounts in the Fiscal Year 2017/2018 Budget to be used for the Wellness Incentive Program.

BACKGROUND:

The BCC approved a wellness incentive program on April 7, 2016 for employees who are eligible for the County's Health Insurance which includes employees of the appointing authorities. the County authorized employees who participated in both the onsite screening and the completion of the personal health assessment (PHA) a taxable $50 cash reward to be paid through the payroll process. Participants who only completed either the health screening or the online PHA will receive a taxable $25 cash reward. The purpose of the program helps make employees aware of their health status and work towards healthier alternatives.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This amendment will not increase the current budget as funds are available from the Blue Cross/ Blue Shield Wellness initiative.
