AGENDA MERIT SYSTEM PROTECTION BOARD REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 12, 2017 - 5:00 p.m. ERNIE LEE MAGAHA BUILDING 221 PALAFOX PLACE 4th FLOOR TRAINING ROOM PENSACOLA, FLORIDA 32502


1.		CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chairwoman Fay Harvey (PLEASE TURN YOUR CELL PHONE TO THE VIBRATE, SILENCE, OR OFF SETTING)

2.		INVOCATION: Rev. Gene Hudson

3.		PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chairwoman Fay Harvey

4.		ADDITIONS/CORRECTIONS TO THE AGENDA

5.		ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA: There being no additions to the agenda, Rev. Gene Hudson moved to adopt the agenda. Silvia Switzer seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. Upon call for the approval of the minutes of the MSPB meeting of JUNE 13, 2017, Rev. Gene Hudson moved for approval. Silvia Switzer seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

6.		APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: June 13, 2017 MSPB Regular Meeting

7.		PUBLIC FORUM

8.		OLD BUSINESS: All prior appeals have been resolved. There was discussion regarding a different method of addressing quorum issues. A one line sentence change to the Ordinance may be suggested in the coming year as to the definition of quorum.

9.		NEW BUSINESS: The Board voted to approve renewal of the attorney contract for 2017-18. There is a new appeal from employee Jeanette Eriksen. Board member Rev. Gene Hudson confirmed his desire to serve another term on the Board if confirmed by the Board of County Commissioners.

11.		ATTORNEY'S REPORT: The attorney’s report was presented as part of the old and new business discussion.

12.		ADJOURNMENT: Gene Hudson moved, Silvia Switzer seconded, motion passed - adjournment.
