A Purchase Order to Transportation Control Systems (TCS) for $136,250 will allow Staff to purchase 25 MioVision Spectrum Smartlink devices that are needed to provide connectivity from existing County traffic signals to the County's Traffic Signals Operations Center (TSOC). This Purchase Order is regarding the County's Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Connectivity Project discussed at the January 2019 Committee of the Whole and ratified by the BCC at its January 24, 2019, meeting. The devices will come with one year of cell service at a cost of $5,450 per unit.
The ATMS Connectivity Project will upgrade all the existing County traffic signals to ATMS capabilities, which will provide a more efficient and responsive traffic signalization network. ATMS allows for real-time traffic monitoring, incident monitoring, real-time traffic visualization (when video detection or CCTV cameras installed), automated warning systems, improved preventative maintenance, etc.
The ATMS Connectivity Project falls in all 5 Commission Districts.
