Recommendation Concerning a Change Order to Henry Schein, Inc., for the Public Safety Department's EMS Division - John Dosh, Interim Public Safety Department Director

That the Board approve and authorize the County Administrator to execute the following Change Order Number 1, to Henry Schein, Inc., adding funds for the purchase of medical and LifePak supplies for the Emergency Medical Service Division, through the balance of the Fiscal Year:

Due to the increased call volume and change in medical direction as it relates to the medical supplies utilized by the healthcare professionals that she directs, an increase is needed to maintain the level of service needed by the Escambia County residents. We are streamlining how we obtain medical supplies to simplify the ordering process and optimize reporting and management capabilities.

BACKGROUND:
Upon a review of the Purchase Order, it has been determined that an additional $30,000 is projected to be required to maintain the EMS medical supplies for the remainder of the Fiscal Year to include medical and LifePak supplies, not only for EMS but for Fire and Pensacola Beach lifeguards, as applicable. Due to the increased call volume and change in medical direction as it relates to the medical supplies utilized by the healthcare professionals that she directs, an increase is needed to maintain the level of service needed by the Escambia County residents. We are streamlining how we obtain medical supplies to simplify the ordering process and optimize reporting and management capabilities.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
Funds are available in Fund 408, Emergency Medical Services, Cost Center 330302, EMS

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
This Recommendation is in compliance with the provisions of the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, Florida, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II, Purchase and Contracts.
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
Upon approval of this Recommendation, a Change Order will be transmitted to the Office of Purchasing for processing.
