RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Grant Agreement Between The Humane Society of the United States and Escambia County Animal Services - John Robinson, Animal Services, Division Manager

That the Board take the following action concerning the Grant Agreement between The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and Escambia County:

A. Approve the Grant Agreement, which provides $10,000 to Escambia County Animal Services, to be used for the sole purpose of purchasing supplies and equipment, and rescue and relief support of the animals affected by Hurricane Michael; and

B. Ratify the signature of Amy Lovoy, Acting County Administrator, on the Grant Agreement.

BACKGROUND:

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and Escambia County Animal Services worked together under a temporary Natural Disaster Cooperative Agreement to respond to animal related issues caused by the impact of Hurricane Michael in our neighboring Counties. HSUS financed the majority of those operations and this Grant Agreement is a continuation of those efforts to account for expenses incurred before and after Hurricane Michael.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This Agreement will increase Fund 110 (Other Grants and Projects) by $10,000.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

The Agreement was reviewed and aprroved by Assistant County Attorney, Kia Johnson.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

Board Approval of the Grant Agreement and Ratification of the signature of the Acting County Administrator is required.
