RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Grant Agreement Providing Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Block Grant Funding to the Mass Transit Department - Mike Crittenden, Mass Transit Director

That the Board take the following action regarding the Public Transportation Grant Agreement Number 4222571-84-01:

A. Approve Grant Agreement Number 4222571-84-01, providing for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) participation in the amount of $942,970, of Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Block Grant Funding, to the Mass Transit department;

B. Adopt the Resolution authorizing the acceptance and application of these funds; and

C. Authorize the Chairman to sign the Resolution and Grant Agreement.

The Grant Agreement will provide Mass Transit operating funding for the Mass Transit department in Fiscal Year 2018-2019. Funds are allocated to Mass Transit systems by FDOT from State Transportation Block Grant Funds annually and must be accepted by the receiving agency.

[Funding: No additional cost to the County results from this action. 50% County match ($942,970) is included in the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Mass Transit budget]

BACKGROUND:

The Grant Agreement will provide Mass Transit operating funding for the Mass Transit department in FY2018-2019. Funds are allocated to Mass Transit systems by FDOT from State Transportation Block Grant Funds annually, and must be accepted by the receiving agency.

No additional cost to the County results from this action. 50% County match ($942,970) is included in the FY2018-2019 Mass Transit budget

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

Kristin Hual, Snr Assistant County Attorney, has reviewed and approved the Resolution and Grant Agreement as to form and legal sufficiency.

PERSONNEL:

No additional personnel are required as a result of this Grant Agreement.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

The Board of County Commissioners Comprehensive Plan - Mobility Element.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Mass Transit staff will continue to coordinate with the Florida Department of Transportation staff to complete all implementation requirements.
