RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Letter of Understanding between Zoll Data Systems, Inc., and Escambia County, Florida - Michael D. Weaver, Public Safety Department Director

That the Board take the following action regarding the Letter of Understanding (LOU) between Zoll Data Systems, Inc., and Escambia County, Florida:

A. Approve the LOU between Zoll Data Systems, Inc., and Escambia County, Florida, for the use of NEMSIS V3 Third Party ePCR Import and Auto Attach in an executable code for a test data base and testing purposes, that is effective on the date of execution by the last-signing party and that shall remain in effect for a period of two weeks; and

B. Authorize the Chairman or Vice Chairman to execute the LOU.

BACKGROUND:

This Letter Of Agreement would allow the EMS Billing Office to run a two week test of the ESO to Zoll interface module. Once executed, Zoll will free-of-charge allow our EMS Billing Office to import a month's records into the Zoll Billing software as a trial basis. If following our two-week interface testing, it is determined that it is in the County's best interest to switch off the ESO Billing Software back to Zoll, we could import ALL transports into the Zoll Billing Software from 12/1/17 date of service until present. This would allow us not to lose any historical data to the ESO Billing Software.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

None

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

Kristin Hual, Assistant County Attorney, has reviewed and approved this LOU as to form and legal sufficiency.

PERSONNEL:

Implementation of this LOU will be accomplished with existing personnel. No additional personnel are required.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

Board of County Commissioner policies require all LOUs to be approved by it.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Tamika Williams, Business Operations Division Manager, will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of this LOU.
