Recommendation Concerning the Appointment of the Initial Nine Members of the Northwest District 1 Advisory Committee - Commissioner Jeff Bergosh, District 1

That the Board confirm the appointment of the following initial nine members of the Northwest District 1 Advisory Committee: Kim Aderholdt, Dr. Laura Bryant, Paul Flores, Jay Ingwell, Jill Johnson, George Levy, David Liechty, Joseph Poitevin, and Wilson Taylor.

BACKGROUND:

On June 7, 2018, the Board adopted Resolution R2018-63 estalishing the Northwest District 1 Advisory Committee. Members are to be nominated by Commissioner Jeff Bergosh, District 1, and confirmed by the Board of County Commissioners. The members will serve terms concurrent with the District 1 Commissioner's current term and shall be reappointed in the event of reelection.

This Committee was created to provide citizen involvement on issues that are vital to the County in District 1. Some of the importatnt issues facing District 1 are the development of OLF8, planning for extensive traffic, land development and population increases, Master-planning the Northwest portion of District 1 (specifically precincts 43, 5, and 68), enhancing the quality of life for all residents, improving access to public transportation, establishing a public library, and many other issues involving growth and the environment.

Alison Rogers, County Attorney, provided legal sign-off on the Resolution establishing this Committee and adopted by the Board on June 7, 2018.
