RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Funding Allocation for the General Daniel "Chappie" James Museum - Commissioner Lumon May, District 3

That the Board approve allocating $1,500 from Commissioner Lumon May's discretionary money for the General Daniel "Chappie" James Museum. The funding will be utilized for the design, fabrication and installation of related materials and memorabilia needed for the exhibits.

BACKGROUND:

The mission of the General Daniel "Chappie" James Museum is to establish a facility that commemorates the life and accomplishments of General Daniel "Chappie" James, United States Air Force, through the collection, preservation, and interpretation of historial memorabilia and artifacts that will be used in the museum exhibits.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

As part of the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget approved by the Board, each Commissioner received $50,000 to use at their discretion.

Upon Board approval, the County Administrator's Office will work the General Daniel "Chappie" James Museum Board to obtain the necessary paperwork to process a payment voucher.
