RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Change of Broker of Record for Boston Mutual Life Insurance - Eric Kleinert, Human Resources Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Broker of Record for Boston Mutual Life Insurance:

A. Approve the change for the Broker of Record for Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company to National Benefits Group of America; and

B. Authorize the County Administrator to sign the Agreement Letter authorizing the changing of the Broker of Record for Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company to National Benefits Group of America.

BACKGROUND:

Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company has provided a Whole Life Insurance product to the County through Gregory & Appel since 2014. Gregory & Appel have requested to change the Broker of Record to National Benefits Group of America.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

There is a no budgetary impact to the County.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

Kristin Hual, County Attorney’s Office, has reviewed the Agreement Letter and deemed it legally sufficient.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

N/A

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Upon Board approval, the Human Resources Department will forward the Agreement Letter to Boston Mutual Life Insurance.
