BACKGROUND: |
The acquisition offers in the table above consist of $7.00 per square foot for the land and $500 for each tree impacted by the project. Fences impacted will be removed and replaced (like for like) during construction. However, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are currently upgrading and relocating their fence, so their offer includes compensation for relocation of a fence similar to the existing structure.
The West Kingsfield Road Extension Project will improve a portion of the existing West Kingsfield Road, west of County Road (CR) 97, and construct an extension of West Kingsfield Road further west.
The current West Kingsfield Road, west of CR 97 is 18 feet wide with an annual average daily traffic (AADT) count of 1170 vehicles per day. Even though is it a local road, it functions as a collector road.
The Project will improve safety, provide for the future connection to the I-10 Interchange and accommodate both rural and urban communities. The rural section will begin a half mile west of CR 97 and continue westerly to a point connecting to Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) future Beulah Road Extension. Improvements will consist of 12 foot travel lanes, six foot paved shoulders, and open grass swales/ditches for stormwater conveyance. Right of way widths will vary from 60 – 200 feet wide.
These acquisitions are related to the urban section, which will begin at CR 97 and continue westerly for approximately a half mile. This section consists of 12 foot travel lanes with curb and gutter on each side of the road, an underground stormwater system, and six foot sidewalks on the south side of the road. The right of way for this section will vary from 50 – 72 feet wide.
There will also be utility improvements for water infrastructure, natural gas, and sanitary sewer. |
