RECOMMENDATION: |
Recommendation Concerning the Contract Award for the East Johnson Avenue and Cody Lane Signalization Project - Joy Jones, P.E., Engineering Department Director, through Paul Nobles, Purchasing Manager, Office of Purchasing
That the Board approve and authorize the County Administrator to sign the Agreement between Escambia County, Florida, and Panhandle Grading and Paving, Inc., per the terms and conditions of PD 19-20.054, East Johnson Avenue and Cody Lane Signalization, in the amount of $ 507,638.70.

BACKGROUND: |
This project consists of furnishing and installing mast-arm traffic and pedestrian signals and construction of a right turn lane, bicycle lane, sidewalk, resurfacing and reconstructing the intersection of East Johnson Avenue at Cody Lane. This project will also include other work, such as maintenance of traffic, construction of curb and gutter, storm system improvements, stormwater pollution prevention, shoulder work, pavement striping and sewer force main relocation.
An Invitation to Bid for PD 19-20.054, East Johnson Avenue and Cody Lane Signalization, was publically noticed to 152 registrants on April 24, 2020. The solicitation was downloaded by 26 firms. Four firms submitted proposals. The low bid was submitted by Panhandle Grading and Paving, Inc. |

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION: |
The Office of Purchasing will issue the Agreement as well as the Purchase Order. |
