Recommendation Concerning the Funding Allocation to OnBikes Pensacola - Commissioner Robert Bender, District 4

That the Board approve the $1,000 funding allocation from both Commissioner Robert Bender and Commissioner Jeff Bergosh's discretionary funds, for OnBikes Pensacola to purchase new bicycles, helmets, and locks for children along the Gulf Coast.

[Funding:  Fund 001, Board of County Commissioners Cost Center 110101, Outside Agencies Object Code 58201]
BACKGROUND:
OnBikes Pensacola was started in 2016 by Pensacola native, Walker Wilson. Walker and his friends set out with a goal to provide 100 bikes and helmets to children in Pensacola's local foster care system and guardian ad litem program. Through the generosity of the local community, Onbikes has given over 1,500 bikes and countless smiles to children in Pensacola. Bikes have been provided to children in the Families First Foster Care Program, the Boys and Girls Club, Escambia County Schools, the Ronald McDonald House, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida. Almost all of the children were receiving bikes for the very first time.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
As part of the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget that was approved by the Board in September 2018, each Commissioner received $50,000 to use at their discretion.
