RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Pitney Bowes Postage Meter Lease - State of Florida Contract #44102100-17-1.

That the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the attached Lease Contract on the Pitney Bowes C200 Meter.

BACKGROUND:

The Board previously approved postage meter leases for the County Attorney's Office on March 6, 2008, February 16, 2012, and November 5, 2015. Using metered mail (Pitney Bowes) allows a cost savings of $.05 per letter versus using U.S. postage stamps.

Additionally, the Clerk of the Circuit Court requires that all outgoing mail be delivered to her office by 2:00 p.m. each day to be stamped and mailed the same day. The Clerk of this Circuit Court has been very cooperative, but due to the fact that a large volume of mail generated late in the afternoon cannot be mailed the following day would burden both the Clerk of the Circuit Court and the County Attorney's Office.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The lease payments will come out of the County Attorney's budget.
