RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Scheduling of a Public Hearing to Consider Amending Chapter 10, Article I, Section 10-25 of the Escambia County Code of Ordinances Relating to Pensacola Beach Dog Park.

That the Board authorize the scheduling of a Public Hearing on February 7, 2019 at 5:33 p.m. to consider amending Chapter 10, Article 1, Section 10-25 of the Escambia County Code of Ordinances regarding the Pensacola Beach Dog Park extension of "Park East" by 100 feet to the east and 100 feet to the west. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to consider removing the sunsetting provision from the Ordinance.

BACKGROUND:

At the Board of County Commissioners meeting of June 21, 2018, the Board voted to extend the dog park by 100 feet in each direction; the provision will sunset on July 6, 2019.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

The proposed Ordinance was drafted by Assistant County Attorney Kia Johnson and will be advertised in the Pensacola News Journal on January 19, 2018.
