RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Hiring of Demetrus "Mike" Crittenden as the Mass Transit Director - Jack R. Brown, County Administrator

That the Board ratify and confirm the hiring of Demetrus "Mike" Crittenden as the Mass Transit Director, with an annual salary of $91,924.80 per year plus benefits. This new position was created to oversee the daily operations of the Mass Transit Department.

BACKGROUND:

On Monday, August 14, 2017, the Mass Transit Director Selection Committee met to short the applicants. Four applicants, John Andoh, Tonya Ellis, Peter Gajdjas and Demetrus "Mike" Crittenden were selected for in-person interviews. On Wednesday, August 23, 2017, the Selection Committee made up of Jack R. Brown, County Administrator; Amy Lovoy, Assistant County Administrator; and Tom Phillips, Executive Director of the CitrusConnection; held in-person interviews. The Selection Committee voted unanimously for Demetrus "Mike" Crittenden to be the Mass Transit Director.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Mr. Crittenden will be paid $91,924.80 per year plus benefits from Fund 104 (Mass Transit Fund/Public Works)Cost Center 211210 Object Code 51201).
