RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning First Amendment to Land Exchange Agreement with the United States Navy.

That the Board authorize the Chairman to execute the First Amendment to Land Exchange Agreement between United States of America/Department of the Navy and Escambia County, Florida.

BACKGROUND:

On June 2, 2016, the Board approved the execution of a Land Exchange Agreement with the United States Navy. The First Amendment includes changes to the construction requirements for the new outlying landing field in Santa Rosa County and modifications to the deed to be conveyed from the United States to Escambia County that incorporates a preservation covenant required by the Memorandum of Agreement among the Department of the Navy, Escambia County, Florida, and the Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation regarding the transfer of NOLF Site 8 to Escambia County, Florida, dated May 25, 2017.
