RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Budget Amendment #204 - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services

That the Board approve Budget Amendment #204, Mass Transit Fund (104), in the amount of $20,000, to move funds from Fixed Route Bus Costs, an operating account, to the salary accounts to pay the costs for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2016/2017 for the newly-created Mass Transit Director position. These funds need to be appropriated in the correct accounts for the current year's budget.

BACKGROUND:

This budget amendment moves funds from an operating account to personnel accounts to cover the salary for the remainder of the year for the newly created Mass Transit Director position. This budget amendment will take effect once the Board ratifies the recommendation associated with its decision to take over the daily operations relating to mass transit operations.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This amendment will increase personnel funds in Fund 104 by $20,000. However, there is no increase to the current year's budget.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

N/A

PERSONNEL:

A Mass Transit Director position is being added during FY 2016/2017.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

Increases in salaries must be approved by the Board.
