Recommendation Concerning a Change Order to Aramark Corporation for Escambia County Jail Inmate Meals - Tamyra Jarvis, Corrections Department Director

That the Board approve and authorize the County Administrator to execute the following Change Order, adding funds for Escambia County Jail inmate meals:

BACKGROUND:

Over the last several months the headcount of the Escambia County Main Jail has been steadily increasing. During July 2017 the average daily population of the Main Jail was 963. This is 69 more offenders than the July 2016 average daily Main Jail headcount reflects. The increased average daily population has led to the increased expense for food service. The requested change order should provide the needed funding to cover the food service needs of the Escambia County Jail for the remainder of fiscal year 2017.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Funding is available in the General Fund 001; Detention Cost Center 290401, Object Code 53401.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

This recommendation is in compliance with the provisions of the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, Florida, Chapter 46, Finance Article II, Purchase and Contracts.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Upon approval of this recommendation, a change order will be submitted to the Office of Purchasing for processing.
