RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Extension of the 2017 Ad Valorem Property Tax Roll - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services

That the Board approve extending the 2017 Ad Valorem Property Tax Roll prior to the completion of the Value Adjustment Board hearings to afford the taxpayers of Escambia County the opportunity to pay their property taxes during each of the four discount periods, as allowed by Florida Statue 197.323.

BACKGROUND:

By extending the tax roll it allows the Tax Collector the ability to collect property taxes for the various taxing authorities beginning November 1, 2017 even if the Value Adjustment Board hearings have not been completed. This will give taxpayers the ability to pay their property taxes during any of the four discount periods.
