1.   Call to Order & Opening Remarks - Chairperson Tammy Penegar
The meeting was called to order at 5:35 PM.
             
2.   Roll Call & Declaration of Quorum - Susan Hendrix
Roll was called by Susan Hendrix and a quorum was recognized.

Members Present: Gary Purvis, Kevin Faircloth, Karen Hall, Tammy Penegar, Christine Rodgers, Shelby Johnson, Pat Bush, Sonia Bush, Comr. Steven Barry

Members Absent: Carla Gilmore, Jerry Drinkard, Denise Mann, Jerry Patee

Staff Present: Nick Simmons, Susan Hendrix, Libbie Johnson, Rick O'Connor, Brian Estevez, Aly Schortinghouse, Angela Hinkle, and Beth Bolles.
             
3.   Was the meeting properly advertised? - Susan Hendrix
The meeting was advertised with a press release from Escambia County Community & Media Relations on Thursday, April 27, 2017.
             
4.   Approval of Minutes from January 17, 2017, meeting - Chairperson Tammy Penegar
Motion made by Pat Bush to approve the minutes from January 17, 2017. Motion seconded by Sonia Bush and passed without opposition.
             
5.   Welcome and Introduction of Special Guest(s) - Nick Simmons, County Extension Director
Nick Simmons welcomed County Administrator Jack Brown and 4-H Youth Coordinator, Brian Estevez.
             
6.   Affirmative Action - Nick Simmons
Nick Simmons conducted annual Affirmative Action training using UF's Affirmative Action Statement. Members were informed that all Extension/4-H programming is open to all persons without regard to race, color, sex, age, disability, religion, or national origin. It was noted that UF performs periodic audits of Affirmative Action Compliance and that all materials developed for Extension and 4-H programs must have the Affirmative Action statement on them.
             
7.   Livestock Barn Construction on Molino Property - Nick Simmons
Discussion was held regarding the design & construction of the Livestock Barn on the Molino 4-H property.
             
8.   Extension Campus Walking Track - Nick Simmons
Nick Simmons informed the members about the new walking track being installed on the Extension campus. No completion date at this time.
             
9.   Program Update - Rick O'Connor, Sea Grant Agent
Rick O'Connor gave an update on his current programming. He also informed the members of the Lionfish Festival and Tournament planned for May 20-21, 2017, at Plaza de Luna.
             
10.   Other Items of Interest -
Beth Bolles invited the members to attend the 2017 Spring Garden Festival sponsored by the Master Gardners, taking place on Saturday, May 6, 8:00 AM - Noon, at the Extension campus on Stefani Road.

Brian Estevez informed the members of the 4-H District Events taking place this Saturday, May 6, at the Langley Bell 4-H Youth Center on Stefani Road.
             
11.   Adjournment -
Motion to adjourn the meeting made by Karen Hall at 7:22 PM. Seconded by Gary Purvis. Passed without opposition.
