RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Approval to the Salary Proposal Presented by Doctor Tim Gallagher.

That the Board discuss giving conceptional approval to the salary proposal presented by Doctor Tim Gallagher, expected Interim Medical Examiner, to District One Medical Examiner Support (DOMES) for the period beginning October 1, 2019.

BACKGROUND:

The State Attorney will appoint an Interim Medical Examiner effective October 1, 2019. The appointment is expected to go to Doctor Tim Gallagher, who currently serves in the District Medical Examiner's Office. Funding for the Interim Medical Examiner will be handled by DOMES, a non-profit corporation headed by the four county administrators within the District One Medical Examiner's District.

DOMES met on September 6 and September 13, 2019, and discussed the proposal and has given conceptional approval and unanimously agreed to take the proposal to each board of county commissioners. Should the arrangement be approved by the four counties, a written agreement will be presented at a future meeting to formalize the terms.
