RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Issuance of Fiscal Year 2019/2020 Purchase Orders, in Excess of $50,000, for the Library Services Department - Todd J. Humble, Library Services Director

That the Board, for the Fiscal Year 2019/2020, approve the issuance of blanket and/or individual Purchase Orders in excess of $50,000, based upon previously awarded Contracts, contractual Agreements or annual requirements for the Library Services Department as follows:

BACKGROUND:

The issuance of these Purchase Orders are necessary to ensure continuity of services traditionally provided by the Board of County Commissioners to the citizens of Escambia County. There are no book wholesale jobbers in Escambia County. Multiple vendors are available on the Florida Department of Management Services State Alternative Contract Source for Library Materials #55101500-ACS-17-1, which is in effect until May 31, 2020. The West Florida Public Libraries will obtain costs from various suppliers on the agreement to purchase materials at the most favorable rate to the County. The purchase of books and materials is part of the budget for operating supplies for the West Florida Public Libraries and is funded by the Library Fund 113.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Funds are available in the budget under Library Fund (113), Operations (110501), Other Contractual Services (53401) for items A thru C. Funds are available in the budget under Library Fund (113), Operations (110501), Books/Publicat/Libr. Mat (56601) for items D and E.
