RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning the Contract Award for Chemical Water Treatment for County-Owned Equipment - Paul Nobles, Purchasing Manager, Office of Purchasing

That the Board approve and authorize the County Administrator to sign the Agreement between Escambia County, and Triple Point Industries, LLC, per the terms and conditions of solicitation PD 18-19.088, Chemical Water Treatment, for a period of one year, with options for up to two additional one-year renewals, for a maximum of thirty-six months, effective upon execution of the Agreement, in the amount of $14,928 annually.
 
This solicitation was emailed to 60 registrants in Vendor Registry representing 41 firms; 38 firms viewed the solicitation and 21 firms downloaded the solicitation. One bid response was received.

BACKGROUND:
This solicitation is for chemical treatment to closed loop systems on County-owned heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. The technical service and maintenance Contract is essential in preventing scale build-up and corrosion in boilers, cooling towers, evaporative condensers, chillers, and closed recirculating systems.
 
An Invitatin to Bid  for PD 18-19.088, Chemical Water Treatment was posted on Vendor Registry beginning July 22, 2019. This solicitation was issued to 60 registrants in Vendor Registry representing 41 firms; 38 firms viewed the solicitation and 21 firms downloaded the solicitation. One bid response was received on August 21, 2019, at 3:00 PM CDT.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
Funding:  Fund 001, General Fund; Cost Center 310203, Facilities Maintenance, Object Code 54601, Repairs and Maintenance.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:
The Agreement was prepared by Kristin Hual, Senior Assistant County Attorney.
PERSONNEL:
All work associated with this Recommendation was done in-house and no additional staff was required.
POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
This Recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, Florida 1999, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II, Section 46-44.
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
The Office of Purchasing will issue the Agreement and the Purchase Order. The Facilities Department will be the Contract Administrator.
