RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Amendment No. 1 to the Memorandum of Understanding Between the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and Escambia County Corrections - W. R. Powell, Corrections Department Director

That the Board take the following action:

A. Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and Escambia County Corrections. The proposed Amendment to the MOU will include additional requirements regarding user access to and disclosure of data that may include the deceased date of an individual; and

B. Authorize the Acting County Administrator to sign the Amendment.

BACKGROUND:

By Board action on March 2, 2017, the Board previously approved a Memorandum of Understanding between Escambia County Corrections and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) relating to governmental entity access to the Driver Vehicle Information Database (DAVID) system. The proposed amendment to the MOU will include additional requirements regarding user access to and disclosure of data that may include the deceased date of an individual (Death Master File).
