RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the CareerSource Escarosa Vocational Rehabilitation Memorandum of Understanding Amendment No. 1 - Tonya Gant, Neighborhood & Human Services Department Director

That the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the following:

A. Amendment No. 1 to the Memorandum of Understanding between Workforce Escarosa, Inc. d/b/a CareerSource Escarosa and the Florida Department of Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation; and

B. Attachment 1 to the Memorandum of Understanding (the Infrastructure Funding Agreement [IFA]) between the same parties.

The Amendment changes the MOU renewal terms from renewal for an additional three-year term to renewal for successive one-year terms. The amendment also incorporates the IFA as Attachment 1 to the MOU.

BACKGROUND:

CareerSource Escarosa and its one-stop partners will continue to provide collaborative referrals between partners for appropriate services and activities as well as methods to ensure the needs of workers and youth, including individuals with barriers to employment, have access to services through the one-stop delivery system.

According to the Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act and State infrastructure funding mechanism requirements, the Local Workforce Development Board, in this case CareerSource Escarosa, shall coordinate with the one-stop partners for the funding of shared services and operating costs for the One-Stop Career Centers.

CareerSource Escarosa has coordinated with the Department of Neighborhood & Human Services in the submission of this request.
