RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Agreement for Equine Services between Escambia County, Florida, and Panhandle Equine Rescue, Inc. - Tim Tolbert, Building Official/Building Services Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Agreement for Equine Services between Escambia County, Florida, and Panhandle Equine Rescue, Inc.:

A. Approve the Agreement; and

B. Authorize the County Administrator to sign the Agreement.

BACKGROUND:

At the Budget Committee of the Whole workshop on July 12, 13, and 18, 2017, the Board approved the allocation of $20,000 for Panhandle Equine Rescue, Inc. to provide suitable shelter, required feed, veterinary care, and transportation for those equines in the custody or under the control of the Animal Shelter. At its meeting on September 26, 2017, the Board approved the allocation from the General Fund Reserves.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

Senior Assistant County Attorney Kristin Hual has reviewed and approved the Agreement.
