RECOMMENDATION:

5:33 p.m. Public Hearing for consideration of adopting an Ordinance creating Volume I, Chapter 99, Sections 99-1 through 99-2, establishing the Escambia County Area Transit Authority as a Dependent Special District of Escambia County, Florida, for the purpose of providing public transportation.

Recommendation: That the Board adopt an Ordinance creating Volume I, Chapter 99, Sections 99-1 through 99-2, establishing the Escambia County Area Transit Authority as a Dependent Special District of Escambia County, Florida, for the purpose of providing public transportation.

BACKGROUND:

At its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, February 1, 2018, the Board approved rescheduling the public hearing to Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 5:33 p.m. The proposed Ordinance will establish the Escambia County Area Transit Authority as a Dependent Special District of Escambia County and formally adopt the Charter of the Escambia County Area Transit Authority.

The proposed Ordinance was drafted by Senior Assistant County Attorney, Kristin D. Hual, and will be advertised in the Pensacola News Journal on Saturday, February 3, 2018.
