Recommendation Correcting the Funding Source for Eleanor Johnson, DansArtery to Present the "Art of Dance-What's Hidden in the Figures" and "Roots, Rhythm, and Movement" - Commissioner Lumon May, District 3

That the Board amend it’s action of April 6, 2017, approving to fund $1,500 for Eleanor Johnson’s DansArtery to present the “Art of Dance-What’s Hidden in the Figures” a Lecture Demonstration and “Roots, Rhythm, and Movement,” from Commissioner Lumon May’s 4th Cent TDT money to reflect that the $1,500 will come from Commissioner May’s Discretionary Money since DansArtery isn’t a 501(c)(3) corporation as originally thought, and approve a Purchase Order to be issued for this purpose.

BACKGROUND:

On April 6, 2017, the Board approved Commissioner May's request to fund Eleanor Johnson's DansArtery in the amount of $1,500 to present the “Art of Dance-What’s Hidden in the Figures” A Lecture Demonstration and “Roots, Rhythm, and Movement” to celebrate Black History in Downtown Pensacola from his 4th Cent TDT Money. However, DansArtery is not a 501(c)(3) organization so the funding source needs to be changed to Commissioner May's discretionary money.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The Board approved $50,000 in the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Budget for each Commissioner to use as discretionary funds.
