RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning Budget Amendment #106 - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services 

That the Board approve Budget Amendment #106, Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Fund (151), in the amount of $100,967, to provide funding for seven temporary CRA Workers to be used for various enhanced duties such as rights-of-way mowing and weed/litter control services in the Brownsville, Englewood, and Palafox Districts.  The temporary CRA Workers are expected to start during the month of May 2017 and work through September 30, 2017.
 
BACKGROUND:
On April 20, 2017, it is anticipated the Board will approve hiring 7 temporary CRA Workers for mowing rights-of-way and weed/litter control services in the CRA districts of Brownsville, Palafox, and Englewood.  Funds are being allocated from Fund 151 Reserves to cover the salaries and to provide funding for maintenance of mowers, edgers, and other equipment used to perform these services.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
This amendment will increase Fund 151 personnel funds by $77,967 and operating funds by $23,000.

This Board action funds 7 temporary CRA Worker positions for enhanced mowing and maintenance activities within the designated CRA Areas from May 2017 through September 30, 2017.
POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
Board policy requires increases in personnel costs to be approved by the Board.
