RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Proposed Senate Bill for the Escambia County Fee Simple Lease Transfer Act

At the request of Commissioner Grover Robinson, that the Board approve the attached Senate Bill's new language as sponsored by Senator Marco Rubio for the Santa Rosa Island fee simple bill cited as the "Escambia County Fee Simple Lease Transfer Act."

BACKGROUND:

The Board has previously supported a federal bill to amend the deed for Santa Rosa Island to allow the option of fee simple conveyances. Senator Marco Rubio is willing to sponsor the attached Senate Bill which includes some language changes from previous bills. Also attached for reference are previous resolutions on this subject.
