RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the CareerSource Escarosa (Formerly Workforce Escarosa, Inc.) Re-Designation of the Local Workforce Development Area - Tonya Gant, Neighborhood & Human Services Department Director

That the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the CareerSource Escarosa (Formerly Workforce Escarosa, Inc.) Re-designation of the Local Workforce Development Area (LWDA) 1 to serve as a jurisdiction for the administration of workforce development activities using Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth funds allocated by the State and to coordinate efforts related to the other core programs at the community level.

BACKGROUND:

Under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (Pub. L. 113-128), the Governor must re-designate local workforce development areas (LWDA) after consultaion with the State Workforce Board, local chief elected officials (CEOs) and local workforce development boards (LWDBs).

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

The County Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved as to the form and legal sufficiency.
