Recommendation Concerning the Issuance of a Purchase Order on Contract PD 14-15.064, General Paving and Drainage Agreement - Joy D. Blackmon, P.E., Public Works Department Director
That the Board approve the issuance of a Purchase Order on Contract PD 14-15.064, General Paving and Drainage Agreement to Roads, Inc. of NWF, in the amount of $231,407.49, for the Valkyry Way Drainage Improvement Project - Municipal Services Benefits Unit (MSBU).

BACKGROUND:
A Purchase Order will be issued on Contract PD 14-15.064 "General Paving and Drainage Agreement" to Roads, Inc. of NWF, for the Valkyry Way Drainage Improvement Project (MSBU). The plans for project include construction of a new 22' wide roadway, new curbing, a new pipe culvert, and new ditches and swales on or along Valkyry Way to improve drainage and alleviate flooding issues. Contract time for this project will be 150 days. The total cost of this project is $231,407.49.
This is an MSBU project. MSBU
Special Assessments are collected through the
"Uniform Method of Collection" as authorized in Florida Statute 197.3632 and are billed
along with other property taxes each November.
Since this is an MSBU project, the funding and cost center information was not included in the original Board approval awarding the over $50K Purchase Orders for the Public Works Department.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
Funds are available in Fund 177, MSBU Assessment Program, Cost Center 142003 "Valkyry Way Drainage Improvement Project", Object Code 56301.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
This recommendation is in compliance with the provisions of the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, Florida, Chapter 46, Article II, Purchases and Contracts.

Upon approval of the recommendation, a requisition will be transmitted to the Office of Purchasing for processing
